Today I’m linking up with Lisa-Jo and a whole bunch of other lovelies for Five Minute Friday.
The rules are simple, just write for 5 minutes flat on the prompt she gives. No worrying about about perfection or being good enough. No editing and backspacing and writing and re-writing. Just five minutes of worry free writing.
Today’s topic: CHANGE.
Here we go.
Ready?
Begin.
:::
We are on the brink. Hanging on the edge of change. Counting the days until her life changes in a real big way – my life too.
We’ve been shopping for dorm room essentials. And she’s been texting with her new roommate. Our youngest will be going away to college.
Change brings with it a roller coaster of emotions. Excitement one moment and oh-my-heart-aches-cause-i’m-going-to-miss-her the next. But excitement has been winning out as I anticipate this new phase in my daughter’s life.
And this change has been the focus of this mama’s prayers.
I listen to myself as I remind her of our God who never leaves us or forsakes us, our God who promises to be her provider, our God who has a plan for her life. A specific plan just for her – one that doesn’t look like anyone else’s.
Maybe it’s me that needs the reminder.

The End.

I love your new blog home. Such wide open spaces for you to write me such awesome things. Change is happening. When all is turned upside down, it’s hard to stay in the groove. So thankful for a moment to stop by. Been missing you!
I sure understand your changes . . . we have had there kids marry in 15 months! But what blessings as they grow and change as well!
Enjoyed reading!
There is nothing as precious as a mamas prayers.
Totally thinking about you and loving your fab space. Pretty, light, and good colors. Two thumbs up.
I haven’t sent a daughter off to college, but did marry one off a few months ago. I had to surrender her into the arms of another man to be her provider and caretaker. Ultimately, I know it is God who watchers over the both of them. Love your new blog home!
