I had the privilege of going to church with my sister this past weekend. Before hearing the guest speaker at the Sunday evening service we went across the street to the coffee shop with a few of her friends. That evening I really enjoyed hanging with my sister, chatting with her friends, and hearing Dr. Jerry Pipes speak. As a result of that evening I was inspired in a couple of different ways.
Inspiration #1 – The guest speaker talked about the importance of building God’s word into your life. He mentioned the more you know about who God is from His word, the more you can trust Him. I have been inspired to memorize more scripture!
Inspiration #2 – As I sat at the coffee shop a few of the gals mentioned their blogs. While I enjoy reading blogs, I had never put much thought into starting my own. Lately, I have been on the hunt for a hobby for myself – a hobby that doesn’t involve anything crafty and something that doesn’t involve messing up my kitchen. Any sort of craft or art projects are out as well as cooking and baking. I cook out of necessity to care for my family, and while I don’t totally dislike doing it, I definitely don’t want to consider it a hobby I enjoy. Anyway…those gals seemed to enjoy blogging, so I began to think I would give it a try. Maybe blogging would be a fun hobby. So, Jill and Tricia, you inspired me to start a blog.

I love it! Your new blog is beautiful. Now if only I can figure out how to give my page a pretty background. it’s too funny that we are starting the same hobby and yet on opposite ends of the globe.
