When Life is Busy and You Can’t Keep the Plates Spinning

Sometimes the reality of life slams right into your week and you just can’t keep all the plates spinning.

And when the plates come crashing down why not just give up on it all?

I’ll tell you why. Because dropped plates only mean a busy life and a human heart. They are not a measure of you. Doing more does not add one bit to your enough-ness. And when the balls drop and to-do boxes go unchecked it doesn’t take away, not even a little bit, from your enough-ness.

This life we’re living? Sometimes we’re tempted to think we’re not cut out for it. We aren’t enough, don’t have what it takes.

But let me tell you (and let me reassure me too) you were created for it.

You are designed to live it.

You aren’t lacking.

You are enough.

Sometimes I think that means it should all be easier. That I won’t question or wonder or be afraid. Really, it’s not like that at all.

Being enough just provides the strength, the confidence, the freedom to live fully even when it’s hard. Even when you’re afraid.

And, oh, that freedom. I’m just beginning to taste it. I’m craving more.

When your soul is heavy and your heart is worn ragged from the wondering may you find that freedom and live right in the middle of it.

I struggle with not feeling as if I’m enough all the time. I am learning to lean on God and trust that with Him, I am enough. Blessings!
